Businesses open to the public, and anyone advising clients for a fee.

In practice

Liability cover responds to what other people claim from you, which makes the limit of indemnity and the basis of cover the two things to get right. Most professional indemnity is written on a claims-made basis, meaning it responds to claims notified during the policy year rather than to work done during it — so a gap at renewal can leave past work unprotected.

What it covers

2 covers

Public (Third Party) Liability
Your legal liability for injury to members of the public, or damage to their property, arising out of the business.
Professional Indemnity
Claims arising from professional advice or services alleged to have been negligent, including defence costs.

Cover names are those used in the Zambian market; the exact scope of any policy depends on its wording and endorsements. We will set out what a quotation does and does not include before you bind it.
